Fish-A-Thon 2011: Team Roaring Fork Anglers
Red Humpy & Gill Finn
CO
Fishing: Roaring Fork & Colorado Rivers
Issue: Litter along our rivers, water usage & CPR

Gill & Red are constantly picking up trash along our floats down these beautiful rivers. We want people to start being more consious of packing out and properly disposing of their trash. There are annual River Clean-up days which is very good but we do it everyday we are on the rivers.
We are also concerned about the way people think they can take water out of these freestone rivers, sometimes to complete depletion, to sustain big cities useage for long showers and green yards. We would rather they take shorter showers and xeriscape their yards.
We also encourage fisherpeople to use good techniques and to Catch & Release your fish. Be sure you hold the fish over the water or at least a net to protect it should it flip/flop out of your hands. Those that are meat fisherpeople should practice Selective Harvest.
You can see more about Red & Gill at Roaring Fork Anglers website and Facebook page. You can read more about the Colorado River and the challanges it faces at Colorado River District website.
