Fish-A-Thon 2010: Team NEFGA1
Alex Gonzales and Rob Greer
NE
Fishing: Summit Lake
Issue: Raise awareness regarding conservation by removing trash

The Nebraska Fish and Game Association ( http://www.nefga.org/web/ ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of Nebraska's Outdoors through Community, Involvement, and Education.
Alex Gonzales and Rob Greer will fish Summit Lake in Eastern Nebraska to raise awareness regarding conservation by removing trash from the shorelines and collecting discarded fishing line to be disposed of via the NEFGA's community program, the Line Recycling Program. The NEFGA has placed approximately 100 PVC "periscope" bins at boat ramps, fishing piers, and other access points at lakes across the state. Anglers deposit their used fishing line in the bin, and a volunteer collects it to be sent off and "recycled" into fish habitat.
