Fly Fishing Film Tour – Omaha!
By FishRecycler | June 15, 2009

Thanks to all who joined us for the Fly Fishing Film Tour in Omaha!
See David Hendee’s review in the Omaha World Herald here.
These short films had us cheering from our seats, and that’s saying a lot. We came from Iowa and Nebraska, the most polite states in the union. Our modus operandi is this: sit down, shut your mouth, don’t move, be quiet. At all costs, be quiet.
When people cheer for a scene, when people laugh out loud, when people say “woooahh!” out loud, you know you’ve got something good on your hands.
When watching a movie starts to feel more like watching a sporting event, you know something is different.
We know we had a lot of fun with the guests who filled the seats at Rave Motion Pictures.
And we raised some money to advance the Stewardship Ethic, with the help of our generous guests who bought tickets and bidded on our silent auction and signed up for Premium Memberships.
Our success owes to the great companies who provided stuff for our silent auction, folks like Bioline and Frabill, The Clean Environment Company and Westlake Ace Hardware. Our friend Angie at FishHer. Hill’s Discount Flies, Family Fish and Game, Olive the Wooly Bugger, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Raising the Ghost, Gamma / Frog Hair, The Arbor Day Foundation, Art Underfoot, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency & Minnesota DNR, Rave Motion Pictures … let ‘em know you love ‘em. they helped us do good things here.
If you didn’t make it, you missed out. But you can still see some cool stuff by visiting www.FlyFishingFilmTour.com, and maybe there’s still a city you could make it to. Or order a couple of the full length videos.
That goes for everybody who joined us, too. Most of these films are shorter adaptations of longer films. Word was, “now I want to see the whole movie!” You can. Visit the Film Tour website, click the links to the filmmmakers sites and order those DVDs.
Finally, here’s the inspiration. It took a group of about 8 people pitching in to bring this tour, the premier event in Fly Fishing, into Omaha. But to be honest, it was one man’s generosity – Mark Olson – who first said, “If we can bring this thing here, I’ll pay the license fee.” Props to you, Mark.
Be inspired. One person – you – can make a big difference to lots of people, and waters, and wildlife – by pitching in where you can, when you can.
Great adventures!
