Recycled Fish Transitions to New Leadership – and an updated logo.

Started in 2004 by Teeg Stouffer, Recycled Fish focuses on a lifestyle of stewardship to protect waters and fisheries for future generations. Over the past 13 years, the organization has grown to a national movement of anglers who live a lifestyle of stewardship on and off the water. As of January 1st, Mr. Stouffer has stepped down as Executive Director of RF, and long-time Recycled Fish volunteer and former program director, Ben Leal has been named the new Executive Director. In an email to supporters about the transition, Teeg remarked on the hard work of all involved: “Thanks to all of you who have sewed in so richly to the organization over the years. I’m proud of what we accomplished together over the past 13 years…”.
Teeg hand picked Ben Leal to spearhead the organization, and said “{Ben’s} passion for the cause, commitment and desire to see it into the future will ensure it’s {Recycled Fish’s} impact long into the future”.
From Mr. Leal: “It’s a sincere privilege and honor to take on Recycled Fish and carry it in to the next phase of the organization’s life. We’ve made awesome inroads in to the ice fishing arena, spreading the message of stewardship throughout the ice belt and then some. Stewardship is a message and a lifestyle that applies to every angler throughout the year. I’m looking forward to working with a great group of people that can help broaden our footprint coast to coast, north and south. Teeg Stouffer had an incredible vision and passion for taking care of our fisheries, I hope to honor his legacy”.

Joining Ben Leal on the organization’s staff are current longtime volunteers Ryan Libby; graphics and web design, Anna Pagel; social media, and Craig Davis; webmaster. New to the team will be Hannah Stonehouse Hudson as Media Director.

As part of 2017’s changes at Recycled Fish, the logo has now also been updated. A new website will be following in the next few months.

With this team in place, and a refreshed logo, Recycled Fish’s mission is set to grow further in the future. They are looking forward to continued partnerships with leaders in the industry, including Ice Team, and a greater reach into all aspects of angling.
