Rifle’s Ice Fishing Tournament Results for 2012

Well, we just wrapped up the 2012 14th Annual Ice Fishing Tournament at Rifle Gap State Park. The event is sponsored by the Rifle Chamber Of Commerce and Colorado Sportsmen Wildlife Fund. Our Western Slope Ambassador, Redd Humpy, reported having a great time and it seemed that everyone else did too. “It was the first year for Recycled Fish “On Ice” Tour to stop at Rifle Gap but it won’t be the last.” said Redd. “They picked a great weekend for the event, too. The weather was near perfect and we had lots of ice to fish, except on the east end of the lake.” There was a pretty good snow storm Saturday afternoon, but it cleared and mostly melted for Sunday’s fishing and the Awards Ceremony. Thanks to all who participated and all the support people. See you next year at Rifle Gap!

The winners received $500 for 1st Place, $300 for 2nd, $150 for 3rd, $100-4th & $50 for 5th. They were also awarded a trophy and other goodies for future fishing excursions. Our congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who participated in this years event.
