Water Log: April 2012 – Hank Parker Edition

    By FishRecycler | April 24, 2012

Congratulations to Alf Anderson – he shared his story about how he’s helping take care of our waters, and it won him the third rod in the Monster Fish Winter rods from Dragon’s Custom Rods, because Stewardship Has Its Rewards.

Want to win a Dragon’s Custom Rod of your own? This month’s offering is a truly one-of-akind artificial snakeskin rod and the Challenge to Stewards is simple: join the 2012 Recycled Fish 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon before May 10.

Three Big Things going on at the cause:

    1. The 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon is on track to set records! This year we’re focusing on specific local issues, specific local solutions, and helping fund those solutions with every dollar raised. From invasive species to pollution, over-harvest to access, our waters are in real trouble. True sportsmen don’t contribute to the problems, but stewards help solve them. The Recycled Fish 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon may be one of the best ways you can.

    2. Our quest for One Million Stewards continues. It’s one of the biggest things going on at Recycled Fish and will be for quite some time. Order your stewardship kit, then tell the world what you’ve done to help our waters and you could win one of the weekly prizes, because Stewardship Has Its Rewards. You can also order kits for special events, schools, clubs – or you can sponsor kits that we’ll hand out on your behalf.

    3. We’re proud to announce a new partnership with Hank Parker Outdoors. It feels good to be endorsed by one of fishing’s legends. Help us say thanks to Hank for standing with us for stewardship of our waters!

A timely Stewardship Tip: if you’re doing any lawn work that requires seeding, buffalo grass is a good idea. It uses less water and takes less mowing than bluegrass or fescue.

Other news: Incredible deals on fishing tackle to benefit Recycled Fish continue at Fish Itch – don’t forget to sign up at FishItch.com so you’ll get the first shot at those. Ordering flies? Don’t forget our Online Fly Shop. We’ve always got someone interesting on The Fish Schtick Podcast, and we’re proud to have honored Pond Boss Bob Lusk recently in the Steward of the Week column.
